Day 85 – Dark clouds all around us at 6:30 a.m. this morning, 34 degrees but no rain, no snow & no wind. It’s the beginning of Week Thirteen. It would be really nice if it warmed up enough to sit outside by the River – hopefully by the end of the week we’ll be able to do that. There’s a Starling nest in the tree next to the RV with lots of activity; Pixie & Gracie are plastered to the window in excitement.

We waited all day for the sun to peak out and for it to warm up but to no avail. Okay, it did warm up to 40 degrees around 6 p.m., but the sky was dark with heavy clouds all day & the wind picked up. Enough relaxing, we’re getting a little stir crazy here, and yes, it’s supposed to get better soon. We spent most of the day looking at routes to take in the Fall going from Louisville, KY to the California coast. We have to start thinking about when old man winter will begin its trek into the Rockies, and what’s the best way and time of year to get across. Tomorrow’s another day and we’re hoping for some sun.
