CRAB & LOBSTER.

Day 179 – It was 44 degrees this morning and another pretty day. It’s supposed to rain this afternoon and all night. Most of the campers are leaving today, leaving the campground pretty empty. The site we have in the field looked like it would become a muddy mess in the rain. We decided to change sites to one of our favorites that doesn’t get muddy when it rains.

WAITING FOR THE COWS TO COME HOME.

Day 121 – It turned out that we didn’t have a decent internet connection at Wolfe’s Neck Farm, so we are sending yesterday’s blog out today (Saturday) upon arrival at the next campground. Meanwhile, we spent the morning and early evening waiting for the cows to be led out to the fields and waiting for them to come home for dinner. The moo-ing as they shuffle by can be heard throughout the area. And little kids line up to watch the procession with excitement every time.

TRAVEL DAY: BELFAST, MAINE TO FREEPORT, MAINE.

Day 120 – We were up at 6:45 a.m. this morning after a night of rain and thunderstorms. It was 61 degrees and cloudy, still with a little rain. Very humid out. We are driving today from Belfast to Freeport, a short drive and one that allows for relaxation before and after the drive.

OINK, OINK.

Day 4 – We just finished dinner, more about that later, but I just sat down to work on today’s blog entry. Rob has taken his trusty camera for a walk. There was the standard moo-ing and snorts coming from the cows as they were led back to the barn from their day in the field. But there was also this strange “oink oink” in a baby voice coming from the campsite next door. The site next to us is one campsite away from the trail where the cows were being led home. I couldn’t figure it out. Baby piglets were being brought in to the barn with the cows? Wouldn’t they get stepped on? So many serious thing to worry about!

OUT & ABOUT – FREEPORT, MAINE.

Day 3 – It was nice & cool last night and we slept well. The cats are doing great. Our campsite was quiet and it was a Friday night. This morning after coffee/tea, we took a walk around one section of the campground. We noticed that no one was wearing masks when they were outside; completely different from last year when masks were required outside also. Everyone seems relaxed & happy, so much better than the fear that was in the air last year.

MASSACHUSETTS TO MAINE: HOT TO COOL, BIRDS TO COWS, AND SOME LIQUOR.

Day 2 – Later yesterday afternoon after we finished with the blog, we relaxed with our beer & wine. It was 84 degrees inside the RV & we had all the fans on. Around 6 p.m. it started cooling down a little, but not before Gracie passed out from the heat in a chair.

Day 4 – It was 56 degrees & overcast this morning at 6:30 a.m.  We’d cancelled the appointment with Lindal Cedar Homes this morning, knowing we wouldn’t be able to afford them, and therefore had a relaxing time in the RV.  Later in the morning we drove around the residential areas of Freeport looking at the homes, their various styles, window placement, and the colors of the houses & trims.  Anything we liked & wanted to remember, we photographed for later reference.  We had lunch in the car with take-out from Cindy’s Lobster Pound in South Freeport.  Very good lobster rolls, extremely fresh & tender lobster.  Got gas in the Honda, then more house-looking and then back to the RV as it started to rain.

MOO.

Day 3 – We were up at 6 a.m. this morning; 51 degrees & cloudy.  Today we traveled to Freeport, Maine.  We had a relaxing morning, since our check-in time at the next campground wasn’t until 1 p.m.  We went to the local Post Office in Bernardston to mail another bill; we had a survey done at the house in NY in order to get a variance for a deck to be built off our bedroom.  We had been notified that the final payment was due on the work.  Then we packed up, shuffled the girls (without a single complaint) into the bedroom for travel, and departed Traveler’s Woods Campground at 9:50 a.m.
