EASTON WATERFOWL FESTIVAL.
Day 398 – We were up and out before 9 a.m. this morning, because we wanted to get to the final day of the annual Easton Waterfowl Festival as they opened and before the crowds arrived. We succeeded and were even able to get a parking place about two blocks away rather than parking a long distance and taking a shuttle bus into town.

Day 397 – A beautiful day today, the storm lasted only about a day. The girls won. They gave us their most pitiful looks, they’re so mistreated after all. So after feeling bad for them, we decided to stay at the RV until 2 p.m., rather than rushing out in the morning to the Easton Waterfowl Festival as we’d planned. We ran a couple of errands, arriving at Gail’s house around 4 p.m.

Day 396 – Today was a long day. The rain from the storm had already begun when we left the campground and drove to Easton, 1-1/4 hours away. We picked Gail up around 11 a.m. and drove to Baltimore where Gail had an appointment. We stopped at a restaurant on Kent Island, The Narrows, and Gail treated us to a great lunch. More Crab – YUM!

Day 395 – We got a little behind with the blog; we’ve been busy. So I will try to be brief, which for me is nearly an impossibility, ho ho. Because there was a storm (Nicole) that was going to pass thru mostly during the day tomorrow, we decided to visit one of our favorite NWRs today while the weather was still good.

Day 394 – Cooler weather here, it reached 60 degrees during the day, low 40’s at night. The campground has been quiet so far, but it’s not the weekend yet. The girls watched us closely this morning to see if we were moving towards packing up. By the time we left for Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, a little before 10 a.m., they knew we were staying and were busily napping and dreaming.

Day 393 – It was 42 degrees, sunny and breezy, when we got up around 7 a.m. this morning. We’re feeling back to normal, so no dilly-dallying around. We’ve got a drive to Delaware today.

Day 24 – Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, day 2. The weather report is for sun, although it was only 42 degrees this morning when we got up. We decided to spend another day at Bombay Hook.

Day 23 – It was supposed to rain most of the day, so we decided to check out a different Wildlife Refuge in the morning. Prime Hook was 20 miles south of our campground. We’d been there a long time ago after visiting Bombay Hook and while it was good to see the migrating Snow and Canada Geese at that time, the Refuge wasn’t set up as well for spending a lot of time for viewing the birds.

Day 22 – It was 50 degrees this morning, sunny and windy. We slept better last night because we didn’t have to leave the hallway light on; Rob attached a flashlight to the wall of the shower instead. Not nearly the glaring light as the night before. The girls also slept well – they all discovered their pads were heated again.

TRAVEL DAY: NORTH EAST, MARYLAND TO FELTON, DELAWARE.
Day 21 – It was a long night. To provide enough light in the shower stall for the camera to film the cats using the litter box at night, we had to leave a bright light on in the hallway all night. Everyone wants to be filmed while going to the bathroom, right? LOL. Well, the cats seemed mystified, noticing the camera and looking up at it, and dumb old mom & dad left the light on in the hallway – this is what happens when they drink too much! So half the time, they’d see these changes, the light & the camera, and not use the box. Then, they’d come back in and try again. And again. And so it went. The bright light and all this activity did not help us sleep either. Anyway, so far, we cannot find a cat with a bladder problem, but they will be watched and filmed for a couple of weeks. That light will drive us all crazy, though!
