Monday, Day 132 – Windy, 30 degrees, mostly sunny, 7:50 a.m. The water’s moving rapidly in the Harbor with the wind. No sign of the lobster boats. Rob went out with his coffee, took a walk around, came back in with his hands frozen. I know because he had to put them on my neck to show me how cold it was.

Day 131 – Cold & 38 degrees at 7:45 a.m. Windy. Rob wore his new jacket outside & was able to sit out with his coffee without freezing. Partly cloudy, more sun yesterday than today.

Day 130 – Still windy, 20 MPH winds expected today, 38 degrees this morning. There were very dark clouds rolling in when we left for more antiques shopping. It took a long time for our feet to get warm in the car. Around Lubec, the fall colors are mostly past peak with the wind blowing the leaves off the trees. On the way north on Route 1, there are still some pretty colors.

Day 129 – More snow flurries blowing by in the wind late yesterday afternoon. Windy & cold this morning, 35 degrees. Rob needs a warmer jacket if he’s gonna sit outside in the mornings. These days it’s just been a quick walk out & back with his coffee. Got some stuff to do in town today, so we bundled up & headed out. We had a very nice, busy day.

Day 128 – The gusty winds continue, 36 degrees this morning. Sustained winds of 20-25 MPH are expected around noon through 3 or 4 p.m. with much higher gusts expected. The lobster boats are not going out today! The water in the Harbor (which is usually quite calm, even glassy), is rough & flowing by rapidly. BRRRRR……

Day 127– It was raining when we got up at 7:30, still windy, 46 degrees. Very cloudy & windy during the morning, rain continuing on & off. Rob went outside to work on the Harbor View Trail. I was afraid he’d blow off the cliff! The gale warnings have been extended for 48 hours.

Day 126 – It rained hard all night; the wind blew even harder. It was 43 degrees this morning at 7 a.m. By 9:30 it had stopped raining & was sunny but it was still quite windy. The gale warning remains in effect off-shore until later today. Probably won’t see many lobster boats going out this morning.

Day 125 – Sunny at 7:15 a.m. & 34 degrees. By 10:00 the clouds were coming in & it was windy, Another changeable-weather day. Rob was already out working on the Harbor View trail; it’s the only trail that isn’t finished, and potentially the only one that will get us down the cliff & eventually give us access to the water. The goal would be to launch kayaks right from our land. That’s a work in progress though & it could take years to complete.

Day 123, Saturday – The girls woke us up at 6 a.m. Cold – 38 degrees, cloudy. We tried to ignore them & stay warm in bed, but they were insistent. Rob got up at 6:35; I didn’t. He’s the morning person. It started raining at 10 a.m., 42 degrees, and the wind was picking up. No word that whalewatching has been cancelled. Should be interesting!

Day 122 – It’s muddy out this morning; it rained hard most of the night. 47 degrees, cloudy, no wind, 7 a.m. Rob was out before 9:00, working on the trees. They shrink & try to hide when they see him coming, ho ho. Hope it warms up because we’re scheduled to go whalewatching tomorrow with a group from the road. Brrrr……
