TRAVEL DAY
From: Stamp River Provincial Park, Port Alberni, British Columbia.
To: Strathcona Provincial Park, Buttle Lake Campground, west of Campbell River.
Day 272 – It was 57 degrees this morning when we got up, cloudy and humid. Maybe we’ll have a signal at our new campground; that would be nice, but doubtful. Strathcona Provincial Park is located in a large remote mountainous area. But we can certainly hope for a better connection there.
MILNER GARDENS.
Day 271 – It rained a little last night – not much – and this pattern continued throughout the day. We were able to take a long hike around Milner Gardens in Qualicum Beach and also have a prolonged lunch/brunch on the patio at Qualicum Beach Cafe. The high today was 72 degrees and despite the heavy clouds, we had a great day and got good pictures.

Day 270 – We got up early to beat the rush of people going to MacMillan Provincial Park/Cathedral Grove. Many times we’ve driven by and even from the road and thru the crowds, we could see there were some awesome trees in the Park. Traffic slows down on Route 4 several miles on either side of the Park as people jockey for a parking space.

Day 269 – It was raining this morning so we spent some time catching up on the blog posts. I wrote up two and Rob tried once again to post previous ones. This not-having-a-signal is getting old.

Day 268 – It rained all night and continued on & off throughout the day. The high today was 66 humid degrees. Not knowing how much rain we would get, we decided to go for a drive. We had some areas on our list of things we wanted to do while here. When we got back to the RV after 5 p.m., we had crossed off several of the items on the list.

TRAVEL DAY
From: Long Beach Golf Course Campground, Tofino, British Columbia.
To: Stamp River Provincial Park, Port Alberni, British Columbia.
Day 266 – Today we travel east from Tofino on the coast to north of Port Alberni. Stamp River Provincial Park is situated by the Stamp River. It is where we went a couple of weeks ago to see the Salmon running at Stamp Falls. We hope to have enough time and good enough weather to be able to do that hike again.
Day 265 – It rained some today and was cool and cloudy with fog. Not a day for the Botanical Gardens. We hung out at the RV until after lunch when we went to Tofino to dump the tanks. The campground had no hook-ups and no dump station. Our next campground is the same, so we found a place that had a dump station before we left and found a different place to fill the fresh water tank to 100% full.

Day 264 – It was very cloudy today with some wind. We’d intended to go to the Botanical Gardens in Tofino, but without any sun we decided to be lazy instead. We didn’t see any bears today, but we do have Pixie; she’s rather bear-like with all that fur!

Day 263 – The campground is totally full. We had an early, small lunch at the RV because we have dinner reservations for tonight at 5 p.m. We went for a drive after lunch.
