OUR OWN BEAR.
Day 264 – It was very cloudy today with some wind. We’d intended to go to the Botanical Gardens in Tofino, but without any sun we decided to be lazy instead. We didn’t see any bears today, but we do have Pixie; she’s rather bear-like with all that fur!

Cheesus Gourmet Sandwiches was serving from a truck at a campground down the road. We picked up sandwiches to go – you tell them what you want on their homemade sub rolls and they make it your way – like a Sub Shop but more gourmet ingredients. While we waited for them to be ready, we checked out the campground (mostly surfers in tents) and took pictures of the flowers on display.

The car barely started when we were leaving; this has happened a couple of times lately. When we got back to the campground, and after lunch – the sandwiches were very good, by the way – Rob took a look at the Honda. Our lucky day, it was just a very loose battery connection (like our computers and phone, LOL). Just a quick tightening and the car was starting great again. Then it was time for naps and relaxation, reading our books.
Dinner was take-out from Tacofino, a little cafe’ at our campground which services the golf course clientele and the campers. Tacofino started 19 years ago in Tofino serving out of a truck. It was so popular that they expanded and opened small mexican-food cafe’s at several locations in British Columbia, including three in Victoria. We walked to the cafe’ and back to the RV – very convenient. The tacos were very good with Rob having a Yam Taco with a Peanut-Sesame Sauce and I had a Fish Taco. We split a Spicy Chocolate Cookie for dessert.
