LOS ANGELES.
Because we will be very busy while we’re here, we will be combining the posts into a couple of shorter ones each time we post, not posting daily.
Friday, Day 130 – The campground was fairly quiet last night. When you have this many campers parked close together and depending on who is next to you, there’s the potential for havoc. But all is well. The continual noise of the traffic is there, but considering our location right in the city of Long Beach near the busy ports with freeways around us, it wasn’t as bad as you might think. The weekend is here and we’re sure the campground will be completely full. The girls were able to relax on the dashboard in the California sun, surrounded by the scenery of many RVs. We guess they can sleep anywhere.

Today we did some things around the RV. Rob picked up the new moon roof he’d ordered for the Honda. Rob’s brother & family (Ron, Sophie, and Maple) came over later to see the cats. They also brought over our mail & the additional solar panels Rob had ordered for the RV; the panels had been delivered to Ron’s house for us to pick up during our visit. We celebrated Christmas 2021 and opened presents, then had pizza and salad delivered. Sophie had made garlic knots and a lemon honey cake – she is quite the baker. Maple gave Pixie all the love and attention she could ever want. A little party in the RV. Thanks for everything, you guys!
Saturday, Day 131 – The campground is full; we’ve been lucky so far with the people that have camped next to us. Since getting here, the weather has been great, sunny with temperatures ranging from the low 70’s during the day to the upper 40’s to low 50’s at night. In the morning, Rob installed the new moon roof on the Honda, replacing the old one that was damaged.

Today was a busy day with family, and the main reason we came to Los Angeles. A memorial was held for Rob’s mother at Green Hills Memorial Park. It was lovely, and it was so nice to see everyone. Afterwards, most of us went to the Red Onion (a restaurant that Rob’s family often went to), and had an early evening gathering. It was nice to spend some time with everyone. We were exhausted; Rob and I went to bed early and slept 12 hours.
