HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAM!  WE HOPE YOUR DAY IS WONDERFUL!

Day 221 – It did snow last night but by noon most of it was gone. It was 35 degrees this morning when Rob got up. By the time we left, a little after noon, it was sunny and 45 degrees, also not very windy. We had a short distance to drive to Elkhart, IN where we’re having the suspension work done on the back of the RV. Then next week we’ll have the front done in Iowa.

Day 218 –  Beginning of Week 32.  The weather forecast for today’s travel was adequate – cold & moderate wind, so we thought we were good to go. But when we departed the campground at 10:20 a.m., it was snowing lightly and a bit windy, 31 degrees. The snow wasn’t sticking to the ground so we thought it’d be just temporary.

Day 217 – We were up and on the road at 10 a.m. this morning after dumping tanks.  It was 41 degrees, cloudy, with some wind. We don’t really have a definite plan as to when we’ll stop & where we’ll spend the night. We just entered Elkhart, Indiana in the GPS & headed out, figuring we’d stop when we were tired of driving.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY!  HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!

ALSO, MINGO, Day 1.

Day 213 – It was refreshing this morning to get up and to find that it wasn’t so cold out. (The outdoor thermometer was permanently stuck so it’s been retired; we’re just going with how it feels until we get a new one.) It feels like this large Park is all our own since we don’t see a soul. So quiet & peaceful. The cats are loving it, too. But as the weekend approaches, there will be more folks here. We will survive, LOL.

RECAP – End of Month 7, Trip #3

Seven months on the road, next month at this time we’ll be back home. One month ago, at the beginning of our sixth month straight on the road, we were at Zion National Park in southwestern Utah. It was high desert country with incredible red rocks & cliffs all around us, dry and warm and dusty. We are, one month later, in northeastern Arkansas, flat farmlands with flooded fields & rushing muddy rivers, Quite a difference and oh my, the beauty we’ve seen. Utah was outrageous, so full of color, but we had to leave due to winter storms coming in from the north. We will SO be coming back to see more! New Mexico, only a small part of it, and we spent so much time running from the high winds. We will come back here, too. Up into the panhandle of Texas, and as quickly out of Texas into Oklahoma. Buffalo and Texas Long Horns at Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, never to be forgotten. Playing hopscotch from one Wildlife Refuge to another throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. What a great month it was. We travelled 2,408 miles in the RV last month, lots more miles if we add what we travelled in the car, too. We stayed at 14 different campgrounds in UT. NM, TX, OK, & AR. During month #7 we’ll be visiting relatives in Missouri & Kentucky, and after that we haven’t decided yet whether we’ll go back to Georgia to visit the alligators again, or maybe go back to Louisiana – both two favorites from last year. Or maybe we’ll do something new, like the Great Smoky Mountains. Mostly it will depend on the weather. We’ve found weather conditions play the biggest factor in where we go and when. We do know that we are enjoying every minute of our adventure and cannot wait to see more.
