CRAB & LOBSTER.

Day 179 – It was 44 degrees this morning and another pretty day. It’s supposed to rain this afternoon and all night. Most of the campers are leaving today, leaving the campground pretty empty. The site we have in the field looked like it would become a muddy mess in the rain. We decided to change sites to one of our favorites that doesn’t get muddy when it rains.

CRAB QUICHE!

Day 177 – The campground was very quiet and we both slept well. Vicki’s continuing to improve bit by bit and Rob’s foot was a bit better today too. We tried to order crab quiche for takeout, it’s only 10 mins away. No answer on the phone. WHAT!! We quickly drove to the restaurant and found that they were too busy to answer the phone, but we did get a seat and finally had our wonderful crab quiche lunches.

STORMY MONDAY.

Day 12 – It was a stormy night last night, but it was worse today. Not as bad as we’d expected, though, but enough to keep us indoors. We’d never stayed at the upper pad during a storm, and even though the winds were high, it felt less windy than it would’ve been at the lower pad, probably because the trees are denser at the upper pad – allowing us more protection. The temperature when we got up this morning was 47 degrees; it was raining and windy.

MACHIAS.

Day 11 – It began lightly raining right after we got up this morning and continued on & off until later when it became more steady; 41 degrees this morning and overcast. There’s a storm coming tonight with high wind & large wave advisories for the coastal regions. The high today was 48 degrees. Since it was raining, Rob didn’t go out to the pathway, but we certainly saw plenty of birds later. Weather permitting tomorrow morning, we’ll go to the end of the road and get pictures of the wave action.
