TRAVEL DAY
From: Our Land, Maine.
To:Forest Ridge Campground, Ellsworth, ME.
Day 176 – We’re sorry to leave our land so quickly, but we need to get home to take care of our medical issues. Our friends Michael and Suzanne came by this morning to see us off. It was great to see them!

We departed at 11:15 a.m. and it was 55 degrees and foggy. We headed South toward Ellsworth where our next campground is located. Every time we go through Ellsworth, either going North or South, we go to Martha’s Diner. They have an amazing crab & cheddar quiche with home fries. So good! When we got there we discovered that they closed an hour early! OH NO!!! We’ll have to try tomorrow. It’s lucky that the campground we are staying at is only 10 mins away.

We have never stayed at Forest Ridge Campground before. We wanted to get beyond the Acadia NP area and this campground fit in well with keeping our drives to 2-3 hours at a time. We arrived at 1:30 p.m. It was 62 degrees and cloudy. The campground is in the process of shutting down for the season so there were few campers. It was very quiet and the trees were beautiful with Fall colors.

Rain started falling as soon as we pulled in. Rob limped around in the rain hooking us up. His heel was hurting quite a bit. Hoping the podiatrist appt. Rob made for the day after we return will provide some relief.
