BACK IN THE USA
TRAVEL DAY
From: All Done RV Camping, Newtown, NB, Canada.
To:Our Land, Maine, U.S.A.
Day 174 – We’re leaving Canada today after a wonderful 4 ½ months. We’ll be going through customs at Calais, ME and will be back in the Eastern Timezone. There’s a lot more of Canada that we haven’t seen yet. We’ll be back to see the rest!

We departed at 9:30 a.m. It was 52 degrees and cloudy. Before we reached the border we stopped in St. Stephens, NB to do the shopping we weren’t able to do yesterday. Replenished our ginger cookie and Salmon burger stockpile. Yay!! We locked the kitties away in their cages so that the customs agent could look through the RV without the chance of the kitties escaping.

The line at the border wasn’t too bad and we got through to Maine quickly. After crossing the border, we stopped for a lunch break and let the kitties out of their prisons. We got gas and headed to the land. All of the rough roads we remember from the Spring have been paved! Yay!! Smooth ride!! The Fall colors are starting to show as well.

We arrived at our land at 1:25 p.m. Eastern Time. It was 59 degrees and sunny. It was very beautiful. So good to be back on the land. Although there were two tropical storms that went right over our land over the Summer, there were no new trees down. The guy that removed the downed trees last Spring had done a great job and we were able to get in with no problems.

Rob’s heel is getting worse and he has to use a cane to get around. Luckily it is the left foot, so he can still drive. Not sure how we’d all get home if it was the other foot! Rob had to steal Java’s special pillow to use to prop his foot up. Java is not pleased!
