EASTPORT.
Day 10 – Rob only had one sighting today at his morning constitutional – a Bald Eagle in a distant tree. If you’re only going to see one thing, a Bald Eagle is a good choice! It was warmer this morning at 40 degrees, sunny & clear.
With the tree chores out of the way, we had a more pleasant task for today – a drive to Raye’s Mustard in Eastport, about 45 minutes from here. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we enjoyed the drive. We didn’t see many changes between here and Eastport, but there was some new construction going on there. We got our mustard at Raye’s and then went to the WACO Diner for lunch, which was very good as always. Got a picture of the Eastport Fisherman and stopped at the local grocery store. They didn’t have everything we needed, but they had a good supply of almond milk, so part of tomorrow’s grocery shopping is done. The high temperature today was 60 degrees inland on our drive.
Back at the RV the girls were sleeping peacefully, Pixie on her shelf in the bedroom with her fuzzy feet hanging over, and the others on the sunny dashboard. Rob put tarps over the chipper/shredder and various equipment we brought up here for working on the land since we’ll be leaving them here when we go to Canada.
Later, Gracie & Luna had a blast wrestling on the bed. They seem quite happy here. Let’s hope they like Canada as much.
