CH..CH..CH..CHANGES!

Day 388 – We had made all of our reservations several weeks ago. Today we were supposed to drive to Forked Run State Park in Reedsville, OH, stay their one night and drive to West Virginia for Friday and Saturday. We’d planned to leave here tomorrow morning around 10 a.m. So much for best laid plans.

In the middle of the night last night, neither of us was feeling very good. After a night and morning with us displaying the wonderful signs of food poisoning or a stomach virus, and of us wearing a pattern in the floor between the bedroom and the bathroom, we knew we weren’t going anywhere today. Because we don’t have fevers, we think it is food-related. Last night we added a can of Health Valley Vegetarian Chili to our Nachos that were leftover from the previous night’s dinner at El Mundo. This morning we dug the can out of the trash and found that it was 3-months’s outdated. Uh-oh. We did not get sick from the El Mundo food the night before, so it must’ve been the chili. Nevertheless, we are not feeling very good. We contacted this Park and they are letting us stay here the rest of today and tonight. Some time to recover.

Our diet has been nothing but water today. Tonight we’ll see how we do on Ginger Ale and Ginger Tea. Tomorrow, there’s plain bread and brown rice to add to the mix. We have called the Parks we’d reserved campsites at through Saturday night and done some rearranging; we may need to call them again to rearrange further. Time will tell.
