TRAVEL DAY
From: Charlestown State Park, Charlestown, IN.
To:East Fork State Park, Bethel/Batavia, Ohio (OH).
Day 387 – It was 49 degrees and cloudy when we got up at 8 a.m. Today we traveled south from Indiana back into Kentucky, then northeast into Ohio. It was very cloudy and sometimes foggy for most of the day. The high today reached 63 degrees.

After dumping RV tanks, we departed Charlestown State Park at 11:05 a.m. Almost the entire drive was on Interstate highways. Traffic was about medium and we did go through a few fairly good sized cities. The further east we went in KY and OH, towards West Virginia, the bigger the hills were that we encountered. The trees were past peak fall colors, so it wasn’t that colorful out.

We arrived at our destination, East Fork State Park, at 1:20 p.m. We had reservations for one night. We camped at this Park about a year ago when heading west to begin our trip, so we knew it would be a good location for us to stay. We had site #89 in Loop C with electric hook-ups. There was a dump station and potable water near the entrance to the camping areas.

We set up camp and had lunch – leftovers from our dinners in KY. The campground is not crowded; it’s the middle of the week, and it should be quiet and relaxing tonight. Tomorrow we head back out for another one-night stopover in a different campground in Ohio. For the next several days, we’ll be moving fairly quickly through several states on our way to a longer stay in Maryland/Delaware.
