DOGS, FRANKFORT, & MEXICAN FOOD.
Day 386 – It was overcast today, but it had quit raining. The high temperature at 72 degrees was perfect. This morning we went by the post office in Charlestown to mail a package and then drove over to Louisville.
Rory was doing a bit better but Pam needed to drive out to Frankfort, east of Louisville, to pick up some medicine for him. She also wanted to show us Frankfort, Kentucky’s state capital, and an old, charming city. We got the medicine and met the Foster Coordinator for the Boston Terrier Rescue of Eastern Tennessee. We parked downtown and walked around, starting with a very cute little coffee cafe which was connected to the next-door book store. Of course, after drinks & baked goods, we had to browse the book store. Rob got a few pictures of the area including the Capital Building.

We took our time driving back to Louisville, enjoying the scenery on the fancy horse farms with green rolling hills enclosed by black fencing. (Mark T: I know we said we were going to get some pictures of the horse farm fencing – it was very cloudy and the pictures we took did not do the scenery justice at all. So for now, white fences win. Until we’re in KY again……)
We went back to Pam’s house, hung around some, then went to our favorite Louisville restaurant, El Mundo. Very good Mexican Food in a relaxed atmosphere, and then there’s the Margaritas. We said good-bye for now to Pam and the dogs, and we’ll visit again next time we’re passing through. It was great seeing you all. (Dog pictures follow.) The cats will be glad when we stop smelling like dog when we come home! We are traitors.
