HAPPY BRITISH COLUMBIA DAY!
Day 294 – Today is BC Day. It’s a Provincial holiday. Each Province in Canada has its own day, a holiday, different from the other Provincial’s days. And there’s also Canada Day, a BIG Canadian holiday.
It was a gorgeous day here; indeed, the “heat dome” has lifted. We opened all the windows to let in the cool, fresh air, and just relaxed. Tomorrow is a travel day. It won’t be a long drive, less than an hour. We’ve heard our next campground is a nice one, a First Nations site (Kwakiuth First Nation), on or near the northeastern coast of Vancouver Island. Port McNeill is the destination, and we’ll be doing a whale watching trip from there. It’s a bigger city than Port Alice, for sure, but not too big. We’ll be there for five nights.
