KERN NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, DAY 2.
Day 139 – Warming up a little, it was in the mid-30’s this morning. Three campers came in last night, then left this morning. We’re the only ones here again. We paid for another two nights here today; we have more to do in this area yet.
It was partly cloudy today with a high of 68 degrees. This morning we made a loaf of bread to make into Rob’s Garlic Cheese Bread. We’re making Lemon Pesto sauce tonight to serve with Shrimp over Angel Hair Pasta. After the bread was done baking and we’d finished lunch, we went back to Kern National Wildlife Refuge to drive Loop 2 of the auto tour. We got great pictures. Then we drove Loop 1 again, and got more pictures. After leaving Kern, we drove to check out the other Refuge in this area, Pixley NWR. We couldn’t find it. It was getting near time to make dinner, so we headed back towards the RV figuring we could go to Pixley NWR tomorrow. On the way back to the campsite we passed a very large flock of White-Faced Ibis in a farm field. More pictures taken.

While making dinner the sky turned pink with a beautiful sunset to end the day.
