SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES, AND THROAT, AND LUNGS.
Day 7 – It was sunny & breezy, 56 degrees, at 7 a.m. this morning. We went in to Belfast to pick up sandwiches for lunch, planning to take them with us on a long drive to try & get more house ideas. First we went to Chase’s Daily. This place is a favorite of the locals & tourists, known for its sandwiches & baked goods; the line was clear around the block. It must be good! We didn’t want to wait in line, COVID & all. Instead we drove to another sandwich place we’d read about, Bell the Cat, also a town favorite. Grabbed a couple of sandwiches and headed east to Unity, looking at houses along the way.
We ate our excellent sandwiches at a boat launch/picnic area on a lake in Unity. It was beautiful out – 75 degrees, breezy with some billowy clouds. We meandered back to the RV via a different route. A large percentage of the houses we’ve been seeing have been two stories (or more). We’re thinking of just doing one floor, Who wants to deal with stairs when you get old?
Back at the campground we had to shut the RV windows even though it was hot inside. The campers next door had a fire going & the inside of the RV was all smoky. I say: who needs a blazing campfire in the middle of a summer day?! Rob says: It’s part of the camping experience. You MUST have a campfire. I say: Bah Humbug. (I was particularly thrilled when after throwing another batch of wood on their fire, they walked away and left their site, the fire just smoking away. Cough. Cough.)
We got take-out from Young’s Lobster Pound for dinner, after calling Meanwhile in Belfast to order pizzas and finding out they weren’t doing to-go orders tonight. After our beer & wine at the RV, we enjoyed our lobster, even though the windows were closed.
