Day 159 – 8 a.m. this morning, 38 degrees, cloudy. It rained last night and a little this morning. We did a load of laundry & just hung around the RV until after lunch. The sun peeked out from the clouds. The high today was a big 48 degrees. We went out in search of the fall colors & to visit several places we hadn’t gotten to last time. It snowed last night & the snow was visible on the mountain tops around the lake. There was snow on the mountains when we got here in May. We’ve come full circle.
It was beautiful out – not full sun for the pictures, but it was at least clear enough that we could see the horizon for the first time in weeks. We made many stops, taking tiny hikes, as much as my knee would allow. It was good. Some of these places we’d been before, but the lighting with the light & dark clouds made it different this time. We drove through Green Point Campground, one of the five Gros Morne National Park campgrounds, and it turned out they were still open with hook-ups at five campsites. When we last stopped by, they were closing on September 15.
The ranger said they may be shutting off the electricity & water this weekend but they would stay open for camping without hook-ups. There are two campsites with fantastic views looking out over the ocean. We are thinking about staying here at the KOA campground at Norris Point until Saturday, then moving to Green Point on Saturday, IF we can get one of these oceanfront campsites.

We got back to the RV around 4 p.m., relaxed with our books, and had Partridgeberry Drinks before dinner. It was beautiful out looking out over the lake in front of the RV. The snow had melted off the mountain tops, but it will be in the low 30’s for the next few nights. We may see a lot more snow.
Are those mushrooms edible or poisonous?
