HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SOPHIE!  WE HOPE IT’S SUPER SPECIAL!

Day 98 – We sure sleep good when we’re here! We were up by 6:55 a.m. When we’re here, first thing in the mornings, Rob takes his coffee & the camera outside with him to sit at the cliff’s edge, overlooking the harbor. It’s always different there because we get the Bay of Fundy tidal range & it’s always changing. 60 degrees, partly cloudy. This morning he got a picture of a Brown Creeper, climbing up a tree.

Day 97 – 6:30 a.m., 60 degrees, some fog in the distance. We took our time getting ready to leave. We even sat out in the tent one more time to look at the activity over the Bay. We departed Cobscook Bay State Park at 11:10 a.m. after dumping tanks. It was 76 degrees, partly sunny & breezy. We could still see the dense fog in the distance, so we wondered if our land would be buried in the fog.

THAR SHE BLOWS! (We hope.)

Day 95 – We are going whale watching today, YAAA!  It was 56 degrees & sunny at 6:20 a.m.

Looks like a perfect day for whale watching. We go out from Campobello Island’s Head Harbor & we always do see something, but when we were talking to Michael at our land, he said they went out earlier this summer & it was the best whale watching trip they’ve ever had. When I called to make the reservations, she said they’ve had a fantastic season thus far with lots of Humpback Whales. Can’t forget the passports; we’re going to Canada!

Day 94 – Good Day Sunshine. Rob was up at 6:30, sat outside with the camera & watched the Loons, then took a bike ride, 60 degrees. I slept in; I didn’t sleep well early on, had trouble getting to sleep. The kitties were active – that didn’t help. The people (like us) with waterview campsites are sticking around. It helps that the fall camping season is here & people can come in without reservations; they can just grab an open campsite & stay as long as they like. People arrive during the day & drive thru, just pick an unoccupied site that they like. There are plenty of open sites, it’s just the waterview sites that are taken for now.

Day 93 – Cloudy this morning, 60 degrees when we got up. Rob sat outside by the cliff & got a few pictures. Then a little later, he finished fixing the RV’s passenger-side side mirrors. That went well, but then, as an afterthought, he checked the driver’s-side mirrors just to make sure they were tight – they had not seemed loose at all when we were driving. There’s also a broken screw on that side which will need to be fixed. A man’s work is never done.

It’s Gonna Be A Bright, Bright, Sunshiny Day.

Day 89 – We woke up to the sun shining over the Bay, so bright that when Rob was sitting out, even with dark sunglasses on, he held his hand up blocking his eyes. Back in Downeast Maine. It was 44 degrees when he got up; I followed an hour later. We’d parked the RV so to maximize sunlight on the dash – the girls were all up there, doing their passive-solar exercises. Rob took a walk around part of the campground, got lots of pictures, he said the campground was fairly full. Many Warblers were passing through – migrating south. I grabbed my camera & went out for a walk, too, and Rob joined me. Some of the trees were definitely showing their fall colors, and it’s only early September. Lots of flowers on the bushes. What a beautiful day!
