Day 72 – We all slept really good last night; it continued raining & the pitter-patter on the roof was soothing. At 6:30 a.m. when Rob got up, it had stopped raining and was 58 degrees. I got up at 7:00. Since we’d finally decided what we were going to do for the next week or so, we talked about putting up the screened tent. Because of where we were parked and the best place to put the tent, we moved the RV over, then put up the tent, blocking us from the trail on one side & the car blocking us from the campsites closest to us.

We went for a drive to find the Amish community, hoping to get fresh, homemade bread from them & some home-grown potatoes for our soup tonight. The store we’d heard about was in Easton, ME. The Ranger told us that an Amish community was farming in that area and selling baked goods, fruits & vegetables at a store. Unfortunately, the store was closed due to a family wedding, but would re-open on Saturday. We drove to a nearby Lake, Monson Pond, to look at their boat launch. This was a nice Lake right on the Canadian border of New Brunswick. We’ll be going back to kayak there soon. Back to Presque Isle, we got the other items we needed, the local potatoes for our soup and some mustard for sandwiches. We’ll be getting our fresh-baked bread on Saturday. Drove back to the RV & it was time for lunch.

After lunch we went out to the screened tent & read our books, also watching the line of campers coming in. It will be the weekend soon. They started at around 1 p.m. and kept on coming. The high today was 69 degrees, partly cloudy & breezy. The Crown of Maine Balloon Festival (COMBF) began today; we’ll probably pay them a visit tomorrow. Our Potato Soup was excellent & we had it with our garlic bread.
