Saturday, June 9 (Day 13) & Sunday, June 10, 2018 (Day 14)

This is a great campsite & we spent most of the weekend in the screened tent overlooking the Bay. We’ve been reading lots of books. The cats are happy and relaxing, too.  The State Park is located on the Cobscook Bay; the campground pamphlet says that the name “Cobscook” comes from the Passamaquoddy Indian word meaning, “boiling tides”. Here, the average tide is 24 feet. The weather has been great, in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s during the day. There are a lot of bugs, but it’s been fairly breezy & the wind picks up in the afternoon. This helps with the bugs.

We took a drive around the entire campground Saturday, and a walk on Sunday, both of us coming back from that with black fly bites – ICK. Tomorrow we must check out of site #7, unfortunately, because someone has reserved this site beginning Monday. We’ll have our eye on site #4 which is non-reservable, and tomorrow as soon as we see the current campers are checking out, we hope to grab that site. It also has a lovely view and is more private than the site we have now. Otherwise, we’ll need to decide where to go next, and we like it here.
