HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHIE!  WISH WE WERE THERE TO HELP YOU CELEBRATE!

Day 15 – We kept a close watch over campers checking out this morning, knowing we had to be out of campsite #7 no later than 11 a.m.  (Saturday when we’d taken a drive around the campground, we’d stopped at the Ranger’s Station to check the availability of various sites, and we’ve been checking online getting the status of the reservable sites. None of the sites we wanted were available for the next several weeks at least; those campsites had all been reserved. There were some campsites that were non-reservable and those are first-come, first-served. We were warned that as soon as a camper checks out of a non-reservable campsite, the first person to check in for it at the Ranger’s Station, gets it.)

Rob saw that the campers in site #4, the one we wanted the most, had left by 9:15. He saw the staff cleaning the site, preparing it for the next campers, and she said we should hurry if we wanted the campsite. We raced over to the Ranger’s Station and we got it. Oh happy day!

We paid for two nights, then leisurely packed up from site #7 and moved over, taking the opportunity since we were moving anyway to dump tanks and fill up with fresh water.  We set the screened tent up on our new campsite, and after lunch & unpacking, we headed out to the tent once again with very little time lost. The kitties were like, well what on earth was that little drive about?!

Site #4 is less open with more trees and a little farther from the campground road. It also has a wonderful view and is perfect for watching the tides. The weather was 72 degrees & breezy. All is well!
