Day 196 – I slept in and meanwhile Mr. Fix It had been busy. I got up to find furnace parts all over the kitchen floor.  Yep, the original thermostat that had been misbehaving was still not working properly and it was cold inside. Rob replaced it with the new part we had bought in Louisville. Unfortunately that didn’t solve the problem, so we were on to Plan B.  He’d done a lot of research on the internet followed by opening up the furnace to see if he would be able to troubleshoot the problem further. Turned out to be very difficult to access the components without completely removing the furnace from the RV.  But the symptoms seemed to indicate that the controller board was not working properly. Rob found one on Amazon that could be delivered to an Amazon Locker in Nashville, TN the next day, so he went ahead and ordered it.

We stayed inside all day; it was still raining and cold out. Rob put the Kentucky sticker on the outdoor sticker map, filling in another slot showing we’d camped there. We got a call from Pam who was feeling quite sick & wondered if she had the same thing. Hers had come on quickly with a fever and extremely sore throat. Mine did not. Uh-oh.

Added Kentucky

I spent most of the day sleeping; it’s one big haze to me, ick, ick, ick. Rob went over to the campground owner’s office & reserved another night at the campsite – the Passport America rate for the third night was $30, very nice. We’d planned to go Bowling Green to the Bookstore Outlet today but I wasn’t up to it. We put off leaving by one day; the furnace controller board could be picked up in Nashville when we went to the Bookstore Outlet on Monday. It would be a long day of driving but this is what happens when you don’t have a place to receive your mail or packages. Jersey Mike’s was our food of choice today. End of Week 28, Trip #3.
