Day 197 – Beginning of Week 29. Feeling just a little more energetic today, finally. Pam was still quite sick, confined to bed, cancelling work. We drove to Bowling Green and visited the Half Price Bookstore Outlet, picking up some more inexpensive books. Bowling Green is a large city, but nice, with rolling hills. Because it’s farther south again, the trees and bushes were greening & getting their flowers. The grass is green. Pretty. Plenty of farmland. Horse country, too, with the picket fences. We like Kentucky.
On the way to Bowling Green & Nashville, TN, we passed many areas where you could visit caves, hike through them, & take tours, etc. There was the Dinosaur Museum, too (most towns seem to have one of these for the children). Also, in Bowling Green, we passed the Corvette Museum which looked like it was a big draw. The Corvette Museum also includes the Corvette Cave & Exhibit which opened two years after the large sink hole appeared in February 2014, swallowing up some extremely expensive Corvettes which had been housed in a building. The Corvettes were salvaged and repaired.
Rob started getting a scratchy throat. Oh no, not him, too! Again, hoping it’s just allergies. We drove on to Nashville to pick up the furnace controller board. Nashville was a very large, crowded city, with lots of traffic. The Amazon Locker was located inside a Whole Foods store, in a very posh, fancy shopping area. The Whole Foods was larger than any we’d ever seen before (and that’s with another store, Whole Body, right next door to house the products for the body). We drove back the way we came for a couple of hours, back to the RV, and made a huge salad for dinner. I still hadn’t gotten my appetite back and Rob was feeling worse; looks like this salad will last a couple more days. Interestingly, the weather had warmed up enough that we didn’t need gas heat and were using electric instead. We’ll have to wait until it gets colder again to try the new furnace controller board.
