Day 190 – Beginning of Week 28. 35 degrees this morning at 8 a.m., partly cloudy. We hung around the RV in the morning, catching up on some things, then left for Louisville.
Went to Pam’s house, hung out for a little bit, then went to a raptor rehab place a few miles from where she lives. Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky, Inc. is an all-volunteer, small non-profit group dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick, injured & orphaned birds of prey. They are set up in a regular neighborhood, large & roomy cages fill the yard, and the birds are lovely, healthy, and so well cared for. They give very informative tours upon request, but you need to call first because it’s such a small organization, and at times there might be only one person working, and they could be busy with the birds. If in the Louisville, KY area, please give them a call & go see the wonderful work they are doing. (502) 491-1939. kyraptors@att.net. www.raptorrehab.org.
We went to several stores to do some shopping, hanging out & killing time until our favorite Mexican restaurant started serving dinner at 5 p.m. El Mundo has great food & margaritas with good Monday-thru-Friday happy hour deals. We went there last time we were here and liked it so much that we went back every night thereafter. $6 top shelf margaritas at happy hour that were excellent, and a black bean chipotle dip for $3, started us off. Rob & Pam split the large nachos which was almost enough to feed an army. I had shrimp fajitas. Yummy. Back to Pam’s for a little bit, then back to the RV to feed the girls.
Maedi & Ernie, we did lots of reminiscenting about the old days. WE MISS YOU!
