Day 131 – I have neglected to mention the weather, basically because there really isn’t much variation here. It’s either sunny & relatively clear or sunny & smoggy. The temperatures range from 65 to 75 degrees during the day & 45 to 55 degrees at night.
Up & out by 10 a.m. for a long shopping trip: 200 lbs. of kitty litter from PetSmart & PetCo (they didn’t have enough of our brand at one store, so we had to go to both); Home Depot for velcro strips (the nightlight keeps falling off); gas & windshield washer fluid; beer for Rob at BevMo; and (yikes) $816-worth of supplies at Whole Foods – I guess it’s not as bad as it sounds when you figure it’s for 3-1/2 months! A really quick burrito from Taco Bell, then back to the RV to try to fit it all into the vehicles. Then, a drive to Rob’s moms’ house so he could be there for a conference call at 3 p.m. (taking care of some business for his mom). The traffic is terrible which makes every trip take much longer than it should.
Restocking
Back to the RV again; Ron, Sophie, & Maple were due to arrive around 5:30 p.m. for a pizza party & some playtime with the cats. We’d seen on the paperwork given to us by the RV park when we arrived that there was a pizza place nearby, “Buono’s” that delivered to the Park. We’d ordered our food by 5:45; time to relax a bit.
We had a great time; thanks to Rob’s brother & family for coming over! The pizza was excellent & we highly recommend this place – there are two in Long Beach & one in San Pedro! (Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria: 250 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, (562) 432-2211. For pick-up, delivery, & there’s a restaurant for eating in, pizza; pasta; salad; lunch buffet; etc.)
The girls were worn out after an evening of playing. Later we all slept hard in spite of the noise in the RV Park.

Thanks guys for the great pizza and RV time spent with you and the cats. We’ve since enjoyed the leftovers and will definitely order from Buono’s San Pedro location again. As you could tell, Sophie really liked the gormet sardines. I’ll have to admit they are definitely better than the ones I remember being strongly encouraged to eat as a kid from the twist top tin, but will still need to “acquire” the taste over time 🙂
We’ll have to bring more sardines next time!
