Day 126 – We’re running a bit behind with the blog here in L.A. Sorry about that! It’s been really busy & our schedule is full. Right now it’s close to 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening & we’re playing catch-up. I’ll try to keep it short & sweet.
We met our long-time, dear friends, Maedi & Ernie, for lunch at a restaurant in Long Beach. It had been years since we’d seen them. The restaurant was “Rock Bottom” in downtown. If I remember correctly, the weather was good (a safe bet because the weather is almost always good in Southern CA), LOL. We took quite a leisurely lunch break & caught up on lots of things. The food was very good & Rob enjoyed the beer sampler; Rock Bottom is a brewery. After lunch they followed us back to the campground & met our kitties for the first time. Of course, Miss Java-the-big-black-scaredy-cat wouldn’t come out to play, but the others did pretty well. They got the old tour of the RV & we sat around and chatted. We had a great time. Thank you, Maedi & Ernie; it was so good to see you!
We relaxed with the girls for the evening. Both of us are tired so we went to bed early. End of Week 18, Trip #3.
What a great idea to go whale watching with this being Maples first time (and thanks for paying for her ticket!). It couldn’t have turned out better with great weather, calm seas, multiple sightings of whales, dolphins, sea lions, birds and great company with you two experts there to give us whale watching tips (and no one got sea sick!). Maple really enjoyed it and we will definitely be going again!
The rest of the afternoon was fun too with lunch afterwards, seeing your RV (and no, not a boring tour at all, but amazing how roomy it is inside and the amount of storage available for the essentials and extras to make life on the road really enjoyable). The highlight however was meeting the cats for the first time. Each one has her own unique personality and they get along so well. What a great addition to the family and such good company while traveling the country!
We had a great time as well and the kitties really enjoyed meeting you guys. Especially Maple!
