SEQUOYAH NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, DAY 2.

Day 50 – After taking care of some business in the morning, we left around 11:30 a.m. for the Webber Bottom Unit of Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. We decided to switch the order from yesterday’s trip so that we’d do the main refuge in the afternoon and the smaller unit earlier. It was a beautiful, sunny day.

SEQUOYAH NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, DAY 1.

Day 49 – We were up and out before 10 a.m. this morning. The sun was shining without a cloud in the sky – the perfect day to go to a wildlife refuge. We’d been to Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge once before in 2018. It had a great auto tour. This time, they were working on the refuge roads and an entire section was closed. We still managed to spend almost all day there and at the Webber Bottom Unit, a section of the refuge on the other side of the Arkansas River.

TRAVEL DAY: RUSSELLVILLE, ARKANSAS TO GORE, OKLAHOMA.

Day 48 – At 7:45 a.m. this morning, it was 38 degrees and sunny. The White Pelicans were gathered at their normal spot near the sand across the river; an empty barge, pushed by a tug boat, traveled through the lock in a different direction. We packed up to leave, while watching life go on as usual around us.
