Kring Point State Park

GOOD-BYE SCREENED TENT.

Day 58 – We were suddenly awakened in the middle of the night by incredibly close lightning and very loud thunder, followed by high wind and heavy rain coming in the windows sideways. After rushing to shut the RV windows, Rob was soaked with rain that was coming inside. Rob says it was like standing right in front of a fire hose. The girls were scrambling all over the RV, trying to find places to hide. It was dramatic! The storm went on awhile with the wind gusts shaking the RV. It was difficult to get back to sleep.

UGH AGAIN.

Day 57 – Today’s supposed to be warmer with the high dewpoint & humidity again. You can’t win them all! This morning Rob put up the screened tent to protect us from the sun; it will be needed today. The air was still with little breeze. The water of the St. Lawrence was like glass.

A GOOD DAY.

Day 56 – It was still raining when we got up this morning, muddy with puddles of rain on the ground. A comfortable 69 degrees with a wonderful breeze, we were all happy. It looked like a lot of campers slept in their cars, their tents totally soaked.

UGH.

Day 55 – Dew point & humidity were quite high today. The combination of both being high made it pretty miserable. There was no breeze. The high was 85 degrees. We got about an hour of rain in the morning, and it didn’t seem to change a thing. None of us, cats included, felt like moving at all. Too much effort.

TRAVEL DAY: GRAND ISLE, VERMONT TO REDWOOD, NY.

Day 54 – It was humid & cloudy when we got up. We took our time getting ready to leave. Check-in time at our next campground was 3 p.m., so we didn’t have to leave this campground early. Cathie was also getting ready to leave. We were able to visit and say good-bye to Cathie & Pete leisurely.
