FINAL DAY IN NEWFOUNDLAND (THIS TRIP.)
Day 161 – It was 40 degrees when we got up this morning, NOT worthy of last night’s frost warning. The high temperature today briefly reached 55 degrees – full clouds all day. Our big journey for today was to drop a couple of outgoing items in the box at the local post office, less than a mile from the campground. We had to come back to the RV and nap, it was just so taxing. LOL.

TRAVEL DAY

To:Grand Codroy RV/Tent Camping, Doyles, NL.
Day 160 – Last night we had a freeze warning predicting the possibility of frost, protect your crops and all that. We were surprised to find the low last night was 33.8 degrees. It’s almost October; in 2019 when we were here, it snowed in early October.

Day 31 – Much warmer this morning, it was 47 degrees when we got up, quite overcast and windy. The weather forecast called for very little sunlight, lots of clouds & increasing winds. We feel a storm coming. Since we’re leaving this campground tomorrow, we’re taking a drive today, clouds or no clouds. Last night at the campground, it was family reunion time or something. During the day at least 4 travel trailers and 2 trucks without RVs arrived, and there was a large get together with children & adults and a couple of very happy dogs. Games were played, the people and the dogs ran around, and a good time was had by all. This morning you could’ve heard a pin drop, it was so quiet.
MEANWHILE, AT THE RV……
Day 30 – It was colder this morning, 34 degrees, cloudy & windy. It looks like we’ll be sticking around here until after lunch. Then if the weather improves, we’ll go out for more sightseeing. This morning, there’s been lots of Swallows darting around the campground. We think they may be passing through on migration.

Day 29 – It was 38 degrees this morning, windy and sunny. It was looking like a drive might be good for today. We hung around the RV until about 10:30 a.m. It had warmed up to 43 degrees when we left to head east from the campground.
A QUIET DAY.
Day 28 – It rained last night and was 44 degrees when we got up. Breezy with very little sun and lots of clouds, we stayed at the campground all day. We wanted to be with the girls and relax. We discovered that people that had camped near us in Nova Scotia at the Harbour Light Campground, are also here at Grand Codroy. It’s an older couple in a small travel trailer that parks next to a younger couple in a large travel trailer. We think that they are parents traveling all over with their son or daughter & spouse, nice!

TRAVEL DAY
From: North Sydney/Cabot Trail KOA Campground, New Harris, NS.
To: Grand Codroy RV/Tent Camping, Doyle’s, Newfoundland (NL).
Day 27 – It was a long day today. We were up early again this morning in anticipation of the trip to NL. (NL = Newfoundland/Labrador. The two areas are grouped together into one province.) It was 47 degrees at 6 a.m. and mostly cloudy. No wind! That bodes well for this ferry trip which should last between 6 & 7 hours. Unlike the ferry trip in British Columbia, we won’t be able to access the RV during the ride. The kitties will be in the bedroom, their normal traveling place, with a litter box, food & water. We are required to stay above and cannot travel in the RV with them. In BC, they announced every two hours that people could visit their pets & access their RVs for 15 to 30 minutes during each announced time frame. The girls were much more relaxed with the visits.
