LOWER QUADRA ISLAND.
Day 280 – We familiarized ourselves with the area around lower Quadra Island today. This morning Rob walked over to the other end of the campground where the laundry facilities were – we have lots of laundry to do while we are here. He was surprised to see a Deer near the laundry room door, chomping on some grass. The Deer wasn’t the least bit concerned about him.

To: Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge and Campground, Quadra Island BC.
Day 279 – We are excited about camping on Quadra Island for a week. This campground is on Native American land, by a very nice Lodge with a nice restaurant. We will have electric, water, and sewer hook-ups for the first time since the campground we stayed in when we got to Victoria British Columbia. We left Victoria on June 6th; that’s a long time without hook-ups.
STRATHCONA PROVINCIAL PARK.
Day 278 – It rained during the night and some this morning. There was supposed to be some sun today, so we drove to the areas of Strathcona that we could get to by road – areas we hadn’t already visited. We packed a lunch and headed out before 9:30 a.m. It was cloudy and 57 degrees.
Continue readingDay 277 – It rained last night and all day today, on & off. We stayed at our campsite. It was nice and quiet when it was raining, but as soon as the rain stopped and until it started up again, it was like a bus-loads of children were let out of their cages at once with all that pent up energy, racing through the campground. We were never a child like that were we? Ho ho.

Day 276 – After our day of rest it was time to get back out and explore. There is a road, the Tree to Sea Road, that leads from Gold River to the Tahsis Inlet and from there, the open Ocean. At the end of this road is the town of Tahsis, the only settlement along this road.
Continue readingDay 275 – We just stayed at the campground today. The girlies needed company, or at least we told ourselves that. They just went about their business of napping, playing, eating, and repeat. Without any signal at all, we have no idea what the weather’s going to do, so we’re just taking our chances. Today we spent the entire afternoon in the screened tent. The high was 71 degrees; there was some sun and some clouding.

Day 273 – Rob took a walk around the campground this morning while I stumbled around the RV – it was morning after all and it takes me a long time to wake up. The girls had their morning rampage around the RV, then collapsed for a day of napping. Twice a day they act like flying squirrels and race around, playing king of the RV jungle. It’s amusing. Maybe it’s their form of hunting since this usually goes on right before or after a meal. Wee haw. It’s really funny if we’re outside and we hear all this thumping and banging from inside.

Day 272 – It was 57 degrees this morning when we got up, cloudy and humid. Maybe we’ll have a signal at our new campground; that would be nice, but doubtful. Strathcona Provincial Park is located in a large remote mountainous area. But we can certainly hope for a better connection there.
MILNER GARDENS.
Day 271 – It rained a little last night – not much – and this pattern continued throughout the day. We were able to take a long hike around Milner Gardens in Qualicum Beach and also have a prolonged lunch/brunch on the patio at Qualicum Beach Cafe. The high today was 72 degrees and despite the heavy clouds, we had a great day and got good pictures.

Day 269 – It was raining this morning so we spent some time catching up on the blog posts. I wrote up two and Rob tried once again to post previous ones. This not-having-a-signal is getting old.
