Day 3 – The main reason we wanted to camp here was the roads for biking. There are miles of nicely paved roads within the Park. We remembered enjoying a bike ride the last time we were here in 2017.

A LITTLE EXPLORATION & A MOVE TO A NEW CAMPSITE.

Day 2 – It was 63 degrees & cloudy at 7:30 a.m. We all slept well; the campground area we were in was quiet. After our coffee/tea, we drove the two campground loops on the west side of the lake (Oak = no pets; Sycamore = pets okay). We noted empty campsites that were large enough for the RV & car and private enough to meet our picky demands, including the Oak loop in case the Park would allow cats that stay inside & don’t bark. We were preparing for our visit to the campground office to find out if we could stay at our current site, or had to move.

A NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS…FINALLY!

Pennsylvania, here we come. This trip hopefully will be our longest adventure since starting these journeys. Like so many other people, we were waylaid due to COVID’s surprise intrusion into our lives. We’d planned to take a year-long trip as early as 2020; it just hasn’t been safe. Time goes by and we want to see what we can, while we can. We think if we’re careful, maybe we can make the trip now. Welcome aboard!

TRAVEL DAY: HOME IN NEW YORK TO HOWARD TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA.

Day 1 – We hadn’t been sleeping well, too much on our minds, trying to get everything done, and last night was no exception. Tired, up at 6:15 a.m., we completed our normal morning routines, then got ready to leave. The day we leave on a trip, we usually take several hours to get all the last-minute items packed and in place, double-check to make sure everything is tightly packed into cupboards and cabinets behind blankets to prevent breakage, walk through both home & RV numerous times – “um, what did we forget?”, etc. The cats knew something was up obviously, with us running around for three weeks and all uptight, but nevertheless, when they were carried one-by-one to the RV, they were initially surprised. We departed at 10:45 a.m. It was 62 degrees and quite cloudy.
