Day 118 – I looked at the calendar this morning & saw that 14 years ago, today, we first saw our land. We knew instantly that this was the land we’d been looking for. We made an offer that same day. I asked Rob if we had any pictures saved on the computer from then so we could post them, but he said those pictures are at home in NY.  If we remember when we get home, we’ll put them in the blog.

Cold-ish at 46 degrees this morning, cloudy, no wind. Rob sat outside with his coffee, the girls were maniacally chasing each other around the RV, and I was forced to drag my sleepy self out of the warm bed. Looking out at the water, the harbor is almost back to the gorgeous blue-green color it usually has.

Around 11 a.m. we went over to Michael & Suzanne’s cottage. They’d been nice enough to offer Rob the use of their table saw & he brought some old strips of wood from the shed door to be trimmed down. We had a good visit & also had a chance to see Bella, their beautiful dog, who has nicely recovered from her surgeries. Back to the RV, we had a late lunch then Rob fitted his renewed boards around the post at the beginning of the driveway. It now looks aged & fits in well with the surroundings rather than sticking out like a sore thumb, and it is larger. Thank you Michael & Suzanne!

The sun had come out, no wind, 52 degrees. While he was fiddling around at the driveway, I walked all the trails, checking out the harbor from different viewpoints. Very nice. Took a few pictures, including some of the kitties lazing about. Then we went out to the tent for the rest of the afternoon. A nice day.
