BLACKWATER NWR.
Day 395 – We got a little behind with the blog; we’ve been busy. So I will try to be brief, which for me is nearly an impossibility, ho ho. Because there was a storm (Nicole) that was going to pass thru mostly during the day tomorrow, we decided to visit one of our favorite NWRs today while the weather was still good.
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a place we never miss when we are visiting MD/DE. Almost an hour southeast of the campground, our drive there was mostly on back roads. There were still some fall colors on the trees. It was pretty. There is lots of history in these small towns. We always see something at Blackwater. They have resident Bald Eagles and Osprey. Similar to other Refuges we’ve recently visited, the waterfowl had not yet arrived in large numbers. As always, it was a nice drive.

Later in the afternoon, we drove from Blackwater to Easton to visit Gail and Lacy. We had a great dinner out at a restaurant called, Chesapeake Landing, near St. Michaels. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. They served platters of fish and it was very good. Maryland is know for its Crab. Excellent Crab Cakes. After visiting a little longer with Gail at her home, we drove back to the RV. We got back later than last night, and the girls were a little irritable. Again, feeding them dinner helped.
