SIERRA VISTA, AZ.
Day 101 – The low last night was 36 degrees. Today the high was 59 degrees. It was partly cloudy. The campground is clean, safe, and offers full hook-ups. It’s a bit noisy at times: highway traffic noise, barking dogs, and kids riding around the camping loop on their bikes, yelling – kids don’t go to school anymore? But, considering how many people camp and live here, it’s really not bad. Tomorrow we drive to a campground a little below Tuscon, a HUGE city. We’ll probably be begging for an opportunity to come back here after that!
The reason we’re staying in Sierra Vista is to have easy access to the Post Office here. Late last week, we ordered our mail to be sent from our mail forwarding service to the Post Office, via General Delivery. The tracking information said it would arrive last night by 9 p.m. We’d also use this time staying in a big city to run a few errands.
The mail did not arrive at the post office yesterday. We will try again later and tomorrow before we leave. Sigh. Part of that mail includes our new camera equipment, which we’d both really been looking forward to receiving.
After stopping at the post office, we went to the AT&T store. They didn’t have what we were looking for. We were striking out all around. We went to a health food store/ co-op and we did find many of the items on our list (including more beyond burgers, YAAA – gotta get them while we can).
Since we had frozen food, we went back to the RV to put away the groceries, then went back out. We stopped at a beverage store. Rob got some beer; I got some wine. Ah, things were looking up! Then we returned to Jersey Mike’s for sandwiches to go. Back to the RV and we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. We hope our mail is here tomorrow morning or when it does arrive, we will be driving a long distance to pick it up. Oh well.
