AT HOME IN THE RV.

Day 39 – It rained last night, 40 degrees. If we’d gone to La Scie, it would be snowing with very high winds all day today and tonight. It’s much better here, but we’re really glad we can go back to La Scie in August.

We spent the day inside the RV. It was cold out, cloudy with a little wind in the morning. Before lunch it rained briefly and the wind increased. We caught up on some things around the RV: worked on our budget and the blog, made some bread for sandwiches, etc. The girls were on their heated pads sleeping the day away, except when they got up to eat. What a life!

We can hear the roar of these waterfalls from our campground, which overlooks the falls below our campsite. The high today was 65 degrees for a short period of time. Soon the temperature began dropping. It began a steady rain around 5:30 p.m. and by then it was fairly windy out. There’s a front moving in.

Park info: “Sir Richard Squires Memorial Provincial Park was named in honor of Sir Richard Squires”, (duh), “the Prime Minister of Newfoundland from 1919-1923 and 1928-1932. Big Falls trail is a short walk from the day use parking lot and brings you to Big Falls where, in July and August, you can see salmon try to jump up the salmon ladder to get to pools further upstream to spawn.” from the Newfoundland/Labrador Traveller’s Guide 2023
