COLD & RAINY.
Day 400 – Another cold morning at 33 degrees when we got up, it only reached 52 degrees today. It started raining in the late afternoon and it’s supposed to continue into tomorrow. They are expecting snow tonight and maybe tomorrow where we live in NY. We’re sorry to miss that, but our time will come soon.
Today we ran a few errands while also familiarizing ourselves with the area. We drove about 65 miles north of the campground to get the part Rob needed for the RV. He’d called around and the only place that had it in stock was a distance away. While there, he picked up something else for the RV and I got a book on Corps of Engineers campgrounds in the U.S. We had lunch at Jersey Mike’s………when in Jersey, you’ve gotta have Jersey Mike’s! We went to Barnes & Noble and picked up a couple of items, then turned back heading south along the Jersey Shore.
We stopped at the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, Brigantine Division. We wanted to go to the Visitor’s Center to see if migrating waterfowl had been arriving yet, but of course, they were only open Wednesday thru Sunday. We’ll go back there again on the correct day when it’s not raining. But we did see a couple of beautiful Trumpeter Swans and a few Ducks.
