Day 123 – It was a hot one today – 85 degrees, sunny without much of a breeze. We took a couple of drives – having the windows down helped with the heat. We went into the small town of Palo Verde to get gas in the Honda – $5.39 per gallon! Yikes!
At the main unit of Cibola National Wildlife Refuge we saw more Coyotes and were lucky enough to see the Burrowing Owl again. The usual suspects were also there: Kestrels, Snow Geese, various Ducks, Canada Geese, and a few smaller birds. Even the birds were hot, spending lots of time at the pond.
We saw Cathie and Petey several times during the day. It was really too hot to do much. Even sitting in the tent, without the breeze it was just lazy hot. Tomorrow, who knows, maybe a kayak trip will cool us off.
