Day 91 – The low last night was 40 degrees; the wind had died down but it’s back full-force today, and it’s quite cloudy. We hung around the RV in the morning because we were expecting a couple of phone calls – washed our hair, made bread, did some trip planning, paid some bills, etc.
Day 90 – It was 32 degrees this morning when we got up, and cloudy. We wanted to get out as early as we could for the trip to our next destination. Since they had no dump station at City of Rocks, we were almost out of propane in the portable propane tank, and we ran out of bread and hadn’t baked a new loaf, we had several stops to make in addition to the drive to Rusty’s RV Ranch near Rodeo, NM.
Day 89 – The low last night was 39 degrees, certainly better than the teens! The high today was 54 degrees, and unfortunately the wind gusts returned. Glad we weren’t on the road, but our friend, Cathie, was; she and Pete arrived and set up camp this afternoon around the rock corner from us.
Day 88 – It was 39 degrees this morning when we got up – and sunny. It got more windy as the day went on, but by the time the sun set the wind had died down again. The high today was 65 degrees.

Day 87 – At 7:15 a.m. this morning it was 35 degrees, partly cloudy with no wind. This was a scenic campground; we will come back here again. We departed at 9:30 a.m. after dumping tanks and hooking the Honda up to the RV. This was a bit earlier than usual, and we ended up being very glad we left early.
Day 86 – It was 24 degrees this morning and the sun was shining in the distance when we got up. We watched the sunlight creep over the desert as the sun rose. It immediately felt warmer when the sun was finally shining on the RV.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAREN C. WE HOPE IT WAS PURR-FECT!

Day 85 – At 7:30 a.m. this morning it was 23 degrees with hazy sun and a slight wind. There are lots of birds here, plenty of various sparrows and small birds, rustling around in the numerous bushes.

Day 84 – So cold this morning, 18 degrees again. We’re leaving today for some warmer temperatures and less wind, too, hopefully. We were up a little before 7 a.m. Sunny & some wind gusts. We’re heading for Radium Springs, New Mexico. It will be a one-night stopover. Tomorrow we’ll drive to a campground not too far from Alamogordo (home of the world’s largest pistachio!) and a visit to the mountains near the town of Cloudcroft, a recommendation from a friend.
Day 83 – It was 18 degrees this morning, SO cold. But today the wind was much lower and the sun was out all day. We are leaving tomorrow for a new destination. Today will be massive birdwatching.
Day 82 – We wish you all a healthy & happy new year for 2022. We know some of you in particular, had a really bad year in 2021. We wish for you strength, faith, and speedy recoveries. Our thoughts are with you.
