CITY OF ROCKS.
Day 88 – It was 39 degrees this morning when we got up – and sunny. It got more windy as the day went on, but by the time the sun set the wind had died down again. The high today was 65 degrees.
It was a relaxing day. We went for a short walk this morning, just looking at neighboring campsites, then after a lunch of pancakes, we walked them off with a longer hike. This place is awesome!
We spent a good amount of the afternoon in the tent, reading and napping. We also looked at maps to decide where to go next. We called a campground near the Arizona border, but they said they were completely booked up because of all the star gazers & astronomers camping with the coming of the new moon. The campground where we are now appears to have the same thing going on here. Between the rock formations and the stars, it’s all very interesting.
