HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE! PLEASE STAY SAFE.

Day 81 – When we got up this morning we checked the weather forecast. We plan to move along sometime within the next few days, but hadn’t decided where we were going next. We thought about going south, but saw that very cold temperatures would be arriving this weekend along with that winter storm we’d been hearing about. The Winter Storm Warnings at one place we’d considered going to, City of Rocks, made us reconsider.

Cathie is staying one more night. Then she and Pete will be working their way to a city where she can get her truck worked on. Because of this storm, we’ll probably stay here through the weekend. We’ll have to do some research before deciding where we’ll go. There has been a steady stream of campers coming and going at this campground. It’s always almost full here.

Meanwhile, it actually rained this morning – didn’t stop the Sandhill Cranes from flying in for their breakfast. The same group of about 10 Cranes comes in daily. There are also 3 Cranes that stay here all day. We watched from inside the RV. The weather worsened, so we didn’t go anywhere but worked on stuff inside. Did some monetary budgeting, a little trip planning and research, and Rob has been researching cameras and camera gear. If he gets a new camera with a longer zoom lens, then I will get his camera. That doesn’t bother me at all! Grin.

Cathie came over for dinner, bringing a salad and leftovers from last night, and we made mexican food again. It was cold all day and very windy. After light rain this morning, it rained more in the evening. Maybe that will wash the mud and dust off our vehicles.
