RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.
Day 6 – It rained most of the night and it was pouring down when we got up this morning. By 9 a.m. the temperature outside had reached its peak for the day, 59 degrees; then the thermostat started dropping. The rain did not continue at that heavy rate but it was at least drizzling all day. VERY muddy out, but in this weather we had no desire to leave the RV. The cats said: Oh goody! It’s a snuggling day.
We have a picture from yesterday of a huge White Pine near our campsite. It dwarfs the other trees around it.

We got some things caught up in the RV today. Rob got the lengthy minutes of the meeting at the land in Maine finished and e-mailed; he was glad when that chore was completed. I worked on updating my “Books Read” list, a task I hope to complete before we get to Kentucky. Half Price Books is a chain of stores across the mid-west and western states where you can exchange your completed books for ones you haven’t read yet. Later in the afternoon we played Yahtzee, a great thing to do when you have time on your hands on a rainy day.
Tomorrow we will leave this campground in the afternoon and check in for two nights at Clear Creek State Park at the campsite we reserved by the Clarion River. The drive will be short; it’s not far from here, and the weekend will be over. Finding campgrounds will be easier for us during the week.
We were actually lucky that we couldn’t stay at Bald Eagle over the weekend. It prompted us to take a look around the general area, and we found such a beautiful place to camp here at Cook Forest and the upcoming camping at Clear Creek. Now, it’s time for another campground review.
