GORGEOUS DAY.

Day 14 – What a beautiful day it was…..sunny & breezy with a high of 73 degrees. We spent most of the afternoon in the screened tent. We briefly saw an Osprey fly over the Harbor, and we saw a Kingfisher diving for fish, but both were so quick we didn’t get pictures. The cats spent most of the day baking in the sun on the dashboard. They like it when all the windows are open & there’s a good breeze.

Rob enjoyed his time at the cliff’s edge this morning, and even though more bugs are arriving, it’s still not too bad (give it another week, then EEK!). On his way back to the RV he heard thrashing around and some voices coming from the property next to us. He went out to the road to see what he’d find and he caught a surveyor and the plumbing inspector who was staking out a location for a new septic field. It’s looking like the people that own the land on one side of us are working on getting a septic system put in, and we’re guessing next would be a cottage. Interesting. Hopefully by the time they build, there will be some building supplies in stock!

Rob had ordered a new rear side-mirror for the Honda last week while we were at Lily Bay State Park. The auto parts store called today to say the mirror had been delivered, so tomorrow we’ll be running errands in town (Machias), about 35 minutes from here. We haven’t been to Machias since we got here this year. Looking forward to seeing what’s new, going to the Machias Marketplace for fresh, organic produce & local scallops, and maybe getting Lobster Rolls from Riverside Take-out.
