WHERE DID THE SUN GO?

Day 15 – After yesterday’s beautiful sunny day, we were surprised to find it cloudy & foggy this morning. It never got above 53 degrees today and was windy and cool. The bugs weren’t bad though, so there’s that…….

We went into Lubec to the Post Office to pick up a delivery and drop off some mail. Nothing going on in town. We drove to Machias which was surprisingly busy, but we saw that we were arriving during the lunch hour, so that explained the people at the places we were going. Still, the level of crowds was much higher than last year when COVID rules were tightening restrictions.

We went to Hammond Lumber to refill a spare propane tank. We picked up the Honda rear side-mirror from the auto parts store, and drove to Riverside Take-out for lunch. They were closed just for today due to work on the parking lot(?), hopefully not permanently. We hope that’s the case, anyway. We went to the health store to find some organic tomatoes and red onions, but they didn’t have any. We found them instead at Machias Marketplace, one of our favorite stores for food in the area. We ordered lobster rolls from Blueberry Restaurant since the Riverside Take-out was closed. Our lunch was good but expensive, and we headed home from Machias to our land around 1:30 p.m.

The rain started soon after we got back to the RV, but Rob had just enough time to put the new mirror on the Honda. We were lucky to get home in time for him to complete that chore before the rain started. The girls missed us and were rambunctious when we got back to the RV. It rained most of the evening and was very foggy. We played a couple of rounds of Yahtzee before dinner. The kitties thought we were nuts, rolling the dice and all! They wanted to know if we’d lost our marbles.
