NOVA SCOTIA.

Day 166 – At 7:45 a.m. it was 41 degrees & sunny. Today we’ll be going from this campground in Nova Scotia to a different one in NS. But first we must get the girls some new kitty litter. We brought five 40-pound bags of their favorite clumping, non-scented litter with us for this trip. But we ran out in Newfoundland & could not find their favorite kind anywhere. We had to buy a bag of the standard, perfumed litter to get us thru until Nova Scotia where they had Petsmart stores. Granted, our cats are spoiled, but we had to agree with them – that perfumed litter was difficult to take in a space as small as an RV. We spent over an hour this morning driving to the closest Petsmart & back to the campground. We are all happy now.

We departed the North Sydney/Cabot Trail KOA at 11:15 a.m.  It was 53 degrees & sunny. The drive to our next campground in Pictou, NS was very nice. The fall colors were good, there wasn’t much traffic, and the road was in pretty good condition. After getting gas in the RV & stopping for lunch at a pull-out, we arrived at Harbour Light Campground at 2:55 p.m.  It was 57 degrees & still sunny.

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights in May. We’ll just have one night this time. We were given the same great campsite as before. It was overlooking the water with a really gorgeous view. We had full hook-ups – $20 Canadian currency. The people here are very friendly & the customer service is outstanding. The girls all went to the dashboard to hang out & nap. The marsh & bay were quite active & we saw a Bald Eagle, a Great Blue Heron, and many ducks (they made us laugh with all their quacking back & forth to each other). The high today was 58 degrees, a very nice day.
