NEWFOUNDLAND – BRIMSTONE HEAD PARK.
Day 87 – It was 53 degrees this morning at 7:30 a.m., a little windy, cloudy. Rob took a short hike in the morning to the top of the hill that’s by our campsite. We stayed around the Park all day, just relaxing and taking it easy. My knee has been acting up; I think it’s been getting worse because maybe the Cortisone shot is wearing off. I am seeing the doctor again in November. I want to be able to hike around again with Rob.
It is very pretty here with lots of little flowers dotting the hills. The cove is beautiful & we love hearing the water as is rolls in to the rocky shore. We sat outside for a bit watching the water & reading our books, until the wind picked up & it was too cold. No bugs, that’s a surprise; bugs really haven’t been that bad at all. Rob took a longer hike this afternoon up Brimstone Head Trail. Glorious scenery & a bit of a workout. The high today never changed from this morning, 53 degrees. It rained a little bit around lunch time. The weather certainly didn’t stop the campers from coming in. It was like clockwork – a half hour to 45 minutes after the ferry arrives, vehicles come in looking for a campsite. Very few people that are here today were here yesterday. It’s like Musical Chairs except the chairs are campsites. It’s a small Park, the only one on the Island, and they are really packed in here. Surprisingly, noise hasn’t been bad at all. Everyone has seemed to be polite and considerate of their neighbors. But we do keep our shades down on the side which has a trailer parked next to us. Pixie does not approve of people in “her” world.
