NEWFOUNDLAND – BUTTER POT PROVINCIAL PARK TO FERRYLAND.
Day 50 – We have no internet & cell phone connections again. We’ll be here at La Manche Provincial Park until Wednesday, so assuming our next Park has connections, we’ll be sending out a group of blog posts all at once. We apologize. Rob was up at 6:30; I got up a little after 7. It was 41 degrees out and it shot all the way up to 43 degrees later in the day, LOL. It was very foggy all day. It began raining around 6 p.m.
NEWFOUNDLAND – ST. BRIDE’S TO TORS COVE.
Day 49 – Rob was up at 6:30 a.m. If we leave the window shades open at night when we go to bed, the girls get us up earlier because it gets light here so early this time of year. They’ll let us sleep a good hour more if we close the shades – that’s their tummy’s speaking. It was sunny out & 44 degrees. I got up a little before 7 a.m., anxious to get on the road.

NEWFOUNDLAND – WE’RE STILL HERE IN ST. BRIDE’S.
Day 48 – The wind got stronger last night, up into the 20’s sustained with higher gusts. The forecast this morning was for the winds to continue most of today, not above 20 MPH but still in the upper teens. We just didn’t feel safe in leaving this morning, so we’re staying here another day & hopefully leaving tomorrow. It is, however, brightly sunny today, a gorgeous day except for the wind.
NEWFOUNDLAND – BACK TO HIGH WINDS & RAIN.
Day 47 – At 7:15 this morning it was 46 degrees with rain & some wind. Both increased during the day. We’re getting so used to this weather, it’s life in Newfoundland. So glad we had that beautifully sunny day yesterday! (Rob is still working on those pictures; so many turned out well.)

NEWFOUNDLAND – ST. MARY’S ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.
Day 46 – It rained last night, but this morning there was enough sun & not too many clouds for us to go to St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve. It’s only about 15 minutes from where we’re parking the RV, yet as we approached the end of the narrow road at the cliff over the Ocean, we saw there was plenty of fog out there. Luckily, it didn’t interfere with the birdwatching & kept its distance.
NEWFOUNDLAND – A DRIVE FOR GROCERIES, AND MORE……
Day 45 – 41 degrees at 7 a.m. this morning, windy & overcast. It rained last night; what else is new. Rob went out to the observation deck, but neglected to bundle up. He was back in a flash. We did our normal morning chores, packed a lunch, and went out to do some grocery shopping in Placentia. We are that far from groceries, seriously, that we had to pack a lunch. Okay, we did go a different, less direct route that took longer, but we wanted to scope out the other side of this peninsula to see if the road was in better condition for our future travels with the RV. The road was better.
NEWFOUNDLAND – TERRA NOVA NATIONAL PARK TO ST. BRIDE’S.
Day 44 – It was 41 degrees with rain & light wind at 7 a.m. this morning. The weather forecast was for sustained winds of 19 MPH around Terra Nova, and that’s not counting how high the gusts could be. With trepidation on my part, we headed out hoping to get beyond the windy area before it got too bad. We departed Newman Sound Campground at 10:20 after dumping tanks; it was 45 degrees, not much wind & some rain.

NEWFOUNDLAND – VIRGIN TERRITORY.
Day 43 – We got spoiled having the entire Armistice RV Park to ourselves. Last night at this campground in Deer Lake, people nearby had their country music blaring and they were shouting back & forth with some arguing going on. We both had to put in earplugs at bed time. We got up a little before 7 a.m. this morning; 42 degrees and cloudy. No Red Foxes to greet us. Today we are driving into virgin territory, roads we’ve never been on before as we head from Deer Lake east on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) to Terra Nova National Park.

NEWFOUNDLAND – RODDICKTON/BIDE ARM TO DEER LAKE.
Day 42 – A travel day, we were up early; it was 41 degrees with some sun at 6:30 a.m. this morning. We departed Armistice RV Park and Bide Arm after dumping tanks. It was 10:10, 54 degrees & mostly sunny. The Red Fox came by to say good-bye.

NEWFOUNDLAND – ICEBERGS GALORE.
Day 41 – We went to bed early last night, when it was still light out. Of course, that doesn’t mean much when it’s light for 16 hours a day. But we wanted to head out early this morning, so we purposely hit the sack earlier than usual. It was only supposed to be sunny until noon; we needed to get out & get pictures early. It was 44 degrees this morning at 6 a.m. and sunny.
