Day 145 – We made it. We didn’t have to leave. Happy days are here again. Moved the clocks back an hour this morning for daylight savings time. Everyone gets an extra hour. YAAAA! 41 degrees this morning at 6:45 a.m. and sunny. The power was on; no major outages here. It’s still windy, 13 MPH with some gusts, but such an improvement over yesterday & last night.
Rob took a walk around the property to check for damage and saw a Bufflehead down at the Harbor View pad. Elsewhere, there was still some pooling of water but it had drained pretty well by this morning. Trees down: an 8” diameter Spruce; an 8′ to 10′ long branch from a large tree, and a couple of small Birch trees. Nothing fell on the RV & car. He hooked the propane tank back up, the slides are back out on the RV, all is good.
Rob did a couple of hours work chipping/shredding. He thinks we’re about half done now. The piles of wood chips are growing. We had a late lunch then caught up paperwork before shifting to a game of Monopoly. The high today was 47 degrees. The wind speed was in the mid-to-upper teens most of the day & it was partly cloudy in the afternoon. Not nearly as bad today as predicted. Phew. Still waiting on a couple of deliveries to arrive before we can leave for home.
