Day 142 – Rain last night, the low was 41 degrees. By 8:30 this morning, it was 50 degrees, sunny & breezy. Rob had his coffee at the Harbor View pad. Today may reach 55 degrees. I figured we may not get a warmer day here this season, so I took my coffee out & sat at the new pad with him. My hands got cold, but otherwise it was great. I am continually amazed at what he’s created. Next, he says, is a pathway from the pad to the lowest point on the cliff, then stairs down to the water. That will have to be next year, though.

We didn’t taking our usual Thursday trip to Machias to pick up our fresh bread. Today Mr. Fixit tackled the chipper/shredder. I called Machias Marketplace & asked them to hold our bread until tomorrow. By noon, he’d fixed the machinery. After lunch we went out and worked. It’s supposed to rain from tonight through Saturday night, so today was another work day. I did some chipping/shredding while Rob did some weeding, then he took over the chipper/shredder until it ran out of gas. We’ve only completed about ¼ of the chipping. After the next storm lets up, we’ll start in again.

Soon after we stopped working it began raining. We finished for the day just in time. The high today was 52 degrees, and it was sunny in the morning, cloudy in the afternoon, breezy. The wheelbarrows have been put to rest for the time being.
